My work brings together photography, writing, and research to explore and communicate the stories held within places, landscapes, nature, history, and cultural heritage.
For more than two decades, I have worked independently as a photographer and creative practitioner, while pursuing a lifelong interest in history, archaeology, architecture, gardens, the natural world, and the stories that connect people with place.
I welcome commissions and collaborations with publishers, authors, museums, cultural and heritage organisations, environmental groups, tourism bodies, government agencies, and others who value curiosity, careful research, visual storytelling, and work created with purpose.
Every project is different. What matters to me is understanding what makes it worth telling.
Photography
Photography has been at the centre of my creative life for more than two decades.
My approach is observational and sensitive to place, light, atmosphere, and detail. Whether documenting a historic building, a garden, a landscape, or a cultural site, I aim to create photographs that do more than record appearance. I want them to communicate something of the character and story of the place itself.

I write about places and the stories carried within them.
My work combines research with observation and a strong sense of atmosphere, bringing history, landscape, culture, and personal experience together in writing that is informative without losing its sense of wonder.

Over many years of travel and professional photography, I have created an extensive photographic archive encompassing architecture, archaeology, cultural heritage, historic places, landscapes, gardens, nature, and the ancient Mediterranean world.
Hundreds of my photographs have been published or licensed internationally.
